This Week: Refreshing one's perspective

Once in a while a new routine will feel completely natural and easy to get into. This was the case for me this week. I had the most wonderful first-week-of-work ever, so good that I am actually excited to go back! So here's to new beginnings and really, naturally embracing change!
Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. After 10 years it is still terribly shocking to re-watch news footage, and so sad. My heart goes out to all of those who lost loved ones on that day:( It's silly that although we never forget that day we do sometimes forget to be thankful for each day and enjoy the little things because life really is too short. I am thankful for my life and for my wonderful husband, family and friends and hope that you are all happy and safe:) So this week...
1. My husband's birthday is coming up! This time next week my love will be 34!
2. I totally missed Fashion's Night Out this year:( I know the FNO events in NYC were wonderful thanks to all the bloggers who've posted pictures but haven't heard a peep about the events in Miami. Unfortunately, FNO in Miami is nothing like it is in NYC. Did any of you attend any events? If so, how was it? I'd love to know what I missed.
3. Have any of you ever made a New England clam chowder? As soon as the weather cools off I am totally making a New England clam chowder and these biscuits!! If you have a great New England clam chowder recipe you'd like to share, please send it to me here.
4. How lovely are the images in this lookbook I found on pinterest?
5. Here are photos and an article about the design of the 9/11 Memorial designed by Architect Michael Arad and Landscape Designer Peter Walker.
Hope your Sunday is restful and great! xo

  1. Hi Lilly! So happy to hear that you've had a wonderful first week at your new job! That's always a great way to start :) I've been watching all the 9/11 documentaries on tv here in Australia and it's so heartbreaking especially for the children who lost parents :( On a happier note, are you planning anything special for your hubby's birthday? I'm dreading having to work this weekend- would love to hit the beach instead! xx

  2. Hi! How are you?! So far second week of work is even better! Thanks:) My husband watched a few of the documentaries on Saturday night as I overheard and tuned in here and there. It's just so sad, almost too sad to watch:( I did watch the memorial services on tv on Sunday morning and cried and cried. I agree, it's just so sad to see these kids who hardly got to know the parents they lost:( after 10 years it's still shocking and horrifying to see footage from that day. I don't know that time can heal this wound:( i am hoping to get to the beach atleast one more time before the water is cold. hope you get to squeeze in a little fun this weekend! xo
